COAT OF ARMS OF THE COLLEGE

  • The coats of arms of the college shows the picture of poet Bharathidasan and a lotus flower with an "Agal Vilakku" on the middle Petal. This indicates that the college is applicated to Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli.
  • The peacock with the temple tower symbolises Mayiladuthurai the place where the college is situated.
  • The five bunches of the paddy corn symbolise is the philanthropic families of Anbanathapuram, Enathimangalam, Pallavarayapettai, karugudi and Kanganamputhur Villages which the foundation belong.
  • The "KUTHU VILAKKU"to stands for spreading of knowledge.
  • The motto of college in the emblem means the more man learn the more knowledge to they gain.

The History of A.V.C. College is part of the history of the Anbanathapuram Vahaira Charities, Mayiladuthurai. The college was inaugurated on 29th June 1955.
