Internet has made completing any task so easier, quicker and effective in all fields especially in the field of Education and Research. As A.V.C. College (Autonomous) is located in rural area, where majority of the students are from economically backward and first-generation graduates. Much of them unaware how the internet helps improving their academic career and also do not know how to use it effectively. Thus, an Internet Club was initiated by the Principal A.V.C. College (Autonomous) on 6th July 2014 comprising interested Under Graduate Students belonging to all the subjects with Dr. N. Baskaran, Asst. Professor in Zoology, as the Coordinator. The Club was inaugurated formally on 16th July 2014, at 02:00 PM in the College Seminar Hall. Dr. M. Varadharajan, Principal, Dr. S. Ramasamy, Head of the Department of Economics & Member of A.V.C. College Committee, Dr. R. Nagarajan, Associate Professor, Dept. of Zoology, Dr. N. Baskaran and the Coordinator of Internet Club, Controller of Examinations, Librarian, Faculty Members from various Departments and 150 Internet Club Student Members have participated in the inauguration meeting.
At the Inaugural function, the Coordinator welcomed all the dignitaries and Club members and narrated the aim of the Internet Club and its functions. Dr. M. Varadharajan in his Inaugural Address said that in the present era of communication technology, a person without an e-mail ID is an address-less person. He also elucidated the need of using internet to update the knowledge, advancement in crucial fields and to show the world that who you are?
