ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:
Established in 2003 the department offers B.Sc., Visual Communication incorporating career oriented Core subjects such as Professional Photography, Advertisement Photography, Journalism, Photo Journalism, News Paper & Book Publishing, Computer Graphics & Animation, Film & Video Production including Videography, FCP, Non-linear Editing, Web designing, Screen Printing to Digitalised Vinyl Board/Hoarding production and 2D Drawing & Painting, with Real World Industrial Internship Training. The students of the department also creatively manage freelance job works viz., Visiting Card Preparation, Ceremonial Photography Coverage, Television Advertising, Short Film Production and Photo Journalism.

INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITIES
The department has a well furnished Photo Studio/Video Studio supported by Digital Still/Video Cameras with lighting systems such as Digilux, Halogen, Photo floods and Multiflash Sync Systems, used for Advertisement Modelling, Table Top Photography and Interior Shooting for Movies.
A Digital Work Station with Computers, Flat bed Scanners and Printers including supporting devices and Softwares help the students to carryout Digital Photo Processing, Advertisement Designing and Digital Printing Practicals.
The post-production works for Documentaries and Short Films made by the students are carried out in the Edit-Suite furnished with both Linear and Non-Linear, FCP, Editing Consoles, with Audio Mixers and Sound Recording Devices.

INNOVATIVE CURRICULAM:
Students Seminars are designed to train them in Media Oriented Activities such as Photo Journalistic field work covering real life events, producing Telecast quality interviews, conducting Game Shows, Sit-Com Programmes and Advertisement Modeling, acting in Short Films, Story Pitching Exercises, Campaigning to create awareness among rural people for the Social Welfare Programmes such as Rainwater Harvest, Women Self Help Groups, Eradication of Child Labour, Water Pollution, etc., through Short Films and Documentaries produced by them.
