The Department offers two years post graduate programme in Biotechnology from the academic year2006-07 and three years under graduate programme in Biotechnology from the academic year 2003-04. The programme M.Sc. (Biotechnology) and B.Sc. (Biotechnology) were proposed, devised and nourished by the dedicated, well-experienced professors of the Department of Zoology. Thanks to their innovative idea of starting job-oriented courses, many of the old students of these courses were well settled in their life. These courses were effectively managed by the Department of Zoology for the past five years. From the year 2003, the Department of Biotechnology was bifurcated from the Department of Zoology for the sake of administrative convenience.
